Bifurcated Fans

High-Temperature Inline Fans for Demanding Environments

At B.O.B. Stevenson Ltd, we design and manufacture bifurcated axial fans — engineered for applications where the motor must be isolated from the airflow. This design allows our fans to operate safely and efficiently at elevated temperatures and in challenging industrial environments. Our Turngrove and Flamgard bifurcated ranges are built in the UK and trusted worldwide across building services, extract systems, process industries, offshore, and petrochemical applications. Each fan is custom-built to your specification, with a choice of mild or stainless-steel construction and multiple temperature ratings up to 315°C.

Frequently Asked Questions

A bifurcated fan is an inline axial flow fan where the motor is separated from the airstream by a sealed tunnel. This prevents heat or corrosive gases from damaging the motor, making it ideal for high-temperature or contaminated air applications.
We offer three configurations: NT (Normal Temperature): Up to 90°C HT (High Temperature): Up to 215°C EHT (Extra High Temperature): Up to 315°C Each design includes appropriate impeller materials and insulation for its rating.
Fans can be fabricated from mild steel, galvanised steel, or stainless steel (304 or 316L). Stainless models are ideal for offshore or corrosive environments.
Turngrove bifurcated fans are available in metric diameters (175–1000mm), while Flamgard fans are offered in imperial sizes (15”–48”). Standard smaller sizes are often available on short lead times.
Yes — Exde-certified motors and other specialist drive options can be fitted for hazardous zones or offshore conditions.
